In the year 1865, the train station San Vicente was built with the intention to be used by the inhabitants of the town with the same name as the train station; San Vicente. The station was located four kilometers away from the town, because of which a new town formed around the station that was called "Pueblo Estacion San Vicente" (The Town of the San Vicente Station). The town was formed to help people that had to travel each day by the train to save time, and not have to walk the four kilometers from the original town.
In 1964 the name of the town was changed from "Pubeblo Estacion San Vicente" to "Pueblo Alejandro Korn." Alejandro Korn, that the town was named after, was an Argentinian Medic and Philosopher born in San Vicente who died in the city of La Plata.
